Yes, I finally went HD. I got a 40" Samsung LN-S4051D for about $1399 after $600 instant rebate. After reading a bunch of reviews I got mixed messages about processing lag. Some said it had it, some said it didn't. Even IGN's article on lag here states that this display lags for 480i/p. At the store I made sure they had a decent return policy, then I said "What the heck." I've been playing games on this for over a week and I have to say, I'm very satisfied. Gears of Wars looks incredible. I even tried the Gamecube with F-Zero GX without issues (it outputs at 480i). Maybe I have a newer BIOS? (Manufactured October 2006)

I am glad I went HD and maybe it was better that I did wait, because the prices are better than ever. And the panels have also improved a few generations. I guess the reason they are selling these out cheaper now is that they are 720p, not 1080p. Now everyone is throwing around 'True HD' to define 1080p, but I didn't previously own a TV in my room, and I'm not planning on upgrading until this dies.
